Flickr Inspiration/Give them the tools!

I was trolling Flickr via compfight and came across this photostream by Lanuiop.

All I can gather from the 400 or so pics from the site is that this stunner's probably a freshman in college, from the Northwest (somewhere like Portland or Seattle) & his "muse" just happens to be his little sister.

...there's something very captivating and revealing about them.

They make me nostalgic for high school when I'd spend hours in the art or dance studios just messing around and being creative.  The images illustrate perfectly - without the intention, it seems - that aspirational age when you want to be just a little bit older than your braces allow. 

At the same time, his subjects seem perfectly self aware and comfortable in their own skin.

Not to get too VH1 Save the Music on it...but think every kid out there should have a camera or a camcorder...giving young people the tools to fully express their ideas, culture and perspective should be a people's priority. 

A Cause for Drinks

Whew!  P and I tore it up last night at All Day Buffet's first extravaganza at The Gallery Bar. 

Great turnout, great cause...we helped raise $1,000 bucks for the kids...and made some new friends.

We've Lost Some Luster

Before we can move forward & discuss things to come, let's take a look back...this summer, some STUNNERS left the city of New York to spread some light to other parts of the country.

"Baz" Bazbaz, dj/intern extraordinaire/copywriter/clue master/pigeon wrangler is now in Iowa working for Hilary Clinton's press team.

Matt Fleischer, master of the running man and TN grannies, is also supporting the Dems in New Hampshire, working as a field director for John Edwards.

Iowa and New Hampshire are still arguably the most important states in presidential politics...Get your strategy on, sons.  I can't wait to see how everything plays out...come to think of it, do we know anyone in the Obama camp?

Turning to the world of business, my friend and client, Scot has left his position at the SCION NY Region and is off to work for Toyota in LA.

My plans to construct the 'super group' of all-around cool, interesting, smart, funny, involved, nice, good-hearted people is still in effect, although I'll be pouring some out for you guys as this summer comes to a close.
